Download this free CVC Encoding Pack. Students practice saying, tapping, mapping, and writing CVC words using color-coded sound boxes.
This free CVC Encoding Pack gives you several tools to teach encoding with CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words. Students progress through four steps: saying the word, tapping out the sounds, mapping into sound boxes, and writing the word. Color coding helps: green for beginning sound, yellow for medial vowel sound, red for final consonant.
The worksheets work well in warm-ups, small groups, or independent centers. They reinforce phoneme-grapheme correspondence and build students’ confidence with spelling and reading.
