Free CVCe puzzlers. Students build silent e words by connecting puzzle pieces and self-check with the completed word on top.
These CVCe puzzlers make phonics practice hands-on and self-correcting. Each puzzle is divided into three parts: the onset, the rime with silent e pattern, and a top piece showing the full word. Students connect the pieces to form words, then self-check by matching to the completed word at the top. This engaging format supports decoding, spelling, and orthographic mapping while aligning with the science of reading.
Example: n–ose → nose puzzle with three self-checking pieces
Students decode by building words step by step
Builds phoneme-grapheme connections and silent e fluency
Great for independent centers, small-groups, or take-home review
Self-check feature encourages independence and reduces teacher prep
These puzzles turn silent e practice into an interactive game, giving students meaningful repetition in a way that feels like play.
